FAQ
- How to get there?
- Find a connnection in Prague
- What is the deadline for registration of a workshop I intend to offer?
You may register your workshop by 30 October 2009.
- What is the deadline for conference registration?
Our website includes registration schedule, based on the simple principle of "the sooner the better", i.e. the sooner you register, the smaller fee you pay. The registration begins on the 1 January, and then it's up to you. If you don't register in advance and only do that in the Pyramida hotel in Prague on the conference day, you would naturally pay the highest fee.
- What is the TA qualification of a "trainer"?
Trainer is a CTA, who can officially train the TA 101, before proceeding further to the PTSTA qualification. Please, don't mix up with a "trainee", who has not gained the basic certification, and, to present a workshop, he/she would need to obtain recommendation from his/her principal supervisor.
- How can I pay the registration fee?
a) There shall be electronic registration and electronic transfer of money available via payment portal.
b) From the beginning of January 2010, it will also be possible to transfer the conference fee from your account to the conference account. We are currently negotiating with the bank. The registration shall become valid only when matched with the conference fee appearing on our account. When sending the money, it must be clearly identifiable - preferably with your name - that this is your registration fee payment. If someone else pays on behind of you, and their name appears on our account as the payment sender, there is a risk your registration shall not be validated.
c) Naturally, you may also register and pay "cash" on the spot; the late registration fee is higher, though.

Well, the machines are at times not that clever, after all.

- When do I have to pay? Is it OK if I just register, and send the money later?
Conference registration consists of two steps, which cannot be interrupted if you wish to use your
payment card:
Step one - completing all data in registration form, and get redirected to the card payment form.
Step two - completing all required data about the card payment (including the generated code, which goes to the note line), and sending the payment order off. You shall immediately receive a message on whether your payment has, or has not, been accepted.
Card payment may not be accepted for the following reasons:
- The client, who was re-directed to the payment gate from the website, has not finished the payment, or closed the browser window immediately after being re-directed to the payment gate. The payment gate does register a new order, yet alas, uncompleted. (And it reports to us an "unfinished" payment.)
- The card was denied by the authorization centre. Frequent causes include the following: the card does not support internet payments, sufficient amount is not available, etc. (The payment gate reports to us an unauthorized payment.)
When you step out of the registration process, you have two options of how to proceed: you may either transfer the money from your account, or you may register again - you will receive a new code, and proceed as described above. The first registration shall be discarded, and only the one with matching payment/registration code shall be taken into consideration.
If you use bank transfer as a method of payment, you naturally don't have to realize the payment immediately. When registering to the conference, select the "bank transfer" option. Use the generated code in the box reserved for information addressed to you (in a note), when placing the order to your bank.
Note: If all goes smoothly, card payments usually reach the conference account the second day; bank transfer normally takes several days, which you should bear in mind.
As mentioned earlier - only when money is on the account shall you receive confirmation of your registration from Amepra, the organizing agency. And we shall be looking forward to seeing you.
- How do I find out the card payment has not gone through/has not been realized by the bank?
You shall be immediately informed by an automatically generated pop-up message on your screen. Should the message be in negative, the payment has not been realized.
Should you (in about one week) not receive an email message from Amepra, the organizing agency, confirming the payment has successfully reached the account, please write to eata@amepra.cz - we can check the payment terminal.
- I cannot pay with my card. Why?
We have not been informed about any issues. Both EC and Visa cards are accepted. Before you decide to pay using your card, please check,
a) the card expiration date,
b) funds available.
- What is the payment deadline for my student hostel accommodation?
Due dates are stated in the mail confirming your registration. Should you not have the information available, please write to Amepra (eata@amepra.cz). If staying in a hotel, you arrange the payment yourself.
- Is it possible to participate in just a part of the conference programme? Or the Gala Evening only?
For a number of reasons, organizational and other, we cannot split the conference fee. All expenses are covered from the conference fees. The Gala Evening is organized exclusively for the conference participants, and cannot be visited separately.
- What is the price of the Prague by Night (Friday evening)?
The amount shall be specified later, based on numbers of participants interested; the information shall be at our website under the "News" as soon as we are clear about the individual language groups of participants registering for the event.
- Shall I need any public transport tickets?
Yes. You shall be able to buy Prague public transport (trams, busses, metro) pass at the conference registration counter. The public transport passes shall be also available in course of the EATA Council.
The Pyramida Hotel (morning programme) and the School (afternoon programme) are within walking distance. Tram will take you downtown to the Faustus' House; tram stop is right outside the hotel.
